(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 15, 2011 ) Toronto, Canada - In september, 2007, a 12 year old cow, Basin Lucy 178E, sold one-half interest for $205,000 to Sauk Valley Angus and Wayne Kreklewich of Craigmore Farm, for a total valuation of $410,000.00!
Now deceased, Basin Lucy 178E was one of the most dominant proven growth cows in the Angus breed, ranking #1 for both weaning weight and yearling weight EPDÂ’s for all cows with seven or more natural progeny in the AHIR program! She has become one of the top dollar producers in the breed.
A true outlier to precision 1680, new design 036, ext and 6807 genetics. genetics. 178E still ranks in the top 1% for WW, YW, scrotal, $feedlot (64.60) and $beef and top 3% milk, top 10% UREA and top 30% IMF!
“She has left a lasting mark on our breed with her ability to compliment today’s top marbling bulls and consistently create high valued, outstanding progeny!” Quotes Wayne Kreklewich.
Craigmore farm has retained 3 daughters of basin lucy 178E in their herd. One of the daughters, basin lucy 504 was hand picked by Wayne Kreklewich and currently ranks among the breed leaders for many of the same power traits that her mother possessed, we believe that she has the potential to someday be an even greater contributor to the angus breed than her mother!
