I-Canada-News.Com, June 21, 2013 ) A 38-year-old Bright, Ont. man is in custody after a car crash that claimed the life of one person and left another with critical injuries.
Around 10 p.m. Saturday, Oxford OPP were called to Douro Street and Elizabeth Street in Plattsville after a pickup truck and a vehicle slammed into each other.
A male driver was pronounced
dead at the scene and his female passenger was airlifted to a London hospital with critical injuries.
She remains in stable condition.
Police have charged 38-year-old Jeffery De La Penotiere of Bright with the following offences.
Impaired operation/care of control of a motor vehicle/cause death
Exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol content/motor vehicle
Impaired operation/alcohol/motor vehicle/cause bodily harm
He is currently being held in custody in Woodstock pending a bail hearing.
