(I-Canada-News.Com, April 01, 2013 ) Calgary, Canada -- The extension of personal technology is now reaching its way into United States homeowner's kitchen, as they look to tackle the remodeling at a pace that has not been seen since the housing crash.
Residential architects are now expecting to see their business conditions improve to levels not seen since 2005, according to a new report from the American Institute of Architects. The general improvement is being driven by a new-found surge in kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects. The interest has been growing for the last 18 months, but is now beginning to reach levels that can be called a true economic turnaround in the sector.
"Kitchens have reclaimed their place as the true focal point of the home, with a growing emphasis on utilizing more technology," AIA Chief Economist Kermit Baker said in a statement. "There has also been renewed interest in integrating more household activities into this space."
Individuals are now adding computers, charging stations, personal recycling centers, drinking water filtration systems, as well as high-end appliances into their homes, according to the new report. The bathrooms are also an area of upgrade, as gaining interest are LED lighting installations have grown drastically. Doorless showers, along with water-saving toilets, are among the most popular new installations as well.
